Short film by Amnesty International provides some insight to the question: Is Cuba A Dictatorship?
“Is Cuba A Dictatorship?”, is a question commonly asked. The answer is, yes. Cuba is a brutal dictatorship under the Castro regime. It is important to be clear: The Castro brothers, both Raul and Fidel, are authoritarian brutal dictators, who have imposed their absolute rule and power over the people in Cuba, since January 1959. Free fair elections in Cuba have been non-existent since the Castro brothers forced their brutal regime on the Cuban people for the past 56 years.
Even though the Castro brothers portray to the world that they represent justice, freedom, and equality, their history of being in power by brute force and deceit tell an immensely different disturbing story of total disregard for justice, freedom, equality, and humanity.
Fidel and Raul Castro systematically repress human rights in Cuba. This is fact, as evidenced by history and experienced by millions of Cubans who have lived under their egregiously unjust regime. Moreover, some of their human rights violations have been well documented by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, among other organizations that monitor human rights violations around the world.
So next time you ask yourself, “Is Cuba a Dictatorship?”, you will know the answer.
